Why does it show decimal hours as well as hours and minutes?
Decimal hours make billing and payroll simpler because they multiply cleanly by an hourly rate. For example, 7 hours 45 minutes equals 7.75 hours. The calculator shows both forms so you can read the duration naturally and also drop it straight into a spreadsheet.
Does it subtract lunch or breaks from the total?
No. The tool reports the raw elapsed time between the start and end you enter. It has no knowledge of unpaid breaks, so if you need to deduct a lunch period, either calculate each segment separately or subtract the break time from the result yourself.
