Time Duration Calculator

Work out the hours, minutes and seconds between two times.

Calculated instantly in your browser.

Use 24-hour (17:15) or 12-hour (5:15 PM).

How do you calculate the time duration between two times?

A time duration calculator measures the elapsed time between a start and end time, showing it as hours and minutes plus total hours, minutes and seconds. If the end time is earlier than the start, it assumes the next day. For example, from 09:30 to 17:15 is 7 hours 45 minutes (7.75 hours, or 465 minutes) — handy for timesheets and shifts.

Understanding your result

Useful for timesheets, shift lengths and billing. If the end time is earlier than the start, the calculator assumes it’s on the following day.
